Who is CADD Graphics?

The Beginning
It was 1986 in the RTP region of North Carolina where CADD Graphics got its start, offering computer aided drafting (CAD) services. At a mere four years old, a program called AutoCAD was poised to revolutionize the drafting industry. As the service sector turned from hand-drawn specifications to a computer-based solution, CADD Graphics was there to meet the demand. With unmatched accuracy and short lead times, our clients were quick to realize the value we offered. Our client list grew rapidly to include multiple engineering firms, public works departments and utilities as well as school systems.
As our customer’s needs evolved so did we – the integration of custom user-written programs (known as LISP routines) afforded us another opportunity to excel and fine tune our drafting services with a client-based focus. Repetitive tasks became grouped and executed by a single command; drawing metrics and pertinent information were automatically calculated and included on drawing sets; bill of materials reports were quickly and accurately generated. Once more CADD Graphics was able to demonstrate value and help ensure our clients’ successes.
The Addition of Laser Engraving
In 2006, CADD Graphics seized yet another opportunity after seeing a gap in the marketplace for laser engraving and laser cutting services. Having offered plotting services for our client base, the addition of a large format laser engraving machine was an easy parlay of our expertise in CAD drafting and design. In short time, we became a trusted provider of laser engraved signage, laser cut architectural elements and unique keepsakes alike.
The demand for our laser services grew to include laser engraving on firearms and related components, blending American tradition with cutting edge technologies. Seeing opportunity, CADD Graphics grew yet again and became a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL). The license allowed us to expand our market reach from central North Carolina to the entire United States, now able to send and receive firearms and other controlled items. Our positive reputation was quick to spread; several well-known firearms manufacturers trusted us as their laser engraving provider.
The Move
In 2014, CADD Graphics made the move across the state to Western North Carolina, settling downtown in the quiet mountain town of Murphy. Within a few years time we outgrew our downtown office space and in 2017, moved to our current location: a 5,000 square foot facility that houses our entire operation. With multiple workstations, various printing/plotting equipment and multiple laser engraving machines (backed by a full woodworking shop, Wood-Mizer mill and even some heavy equipment), CADD Graphics continues its legacy of offering quality CAD drafting services, precise laser engraving and custom made laser cut goods.
